Australia compared to the USA.
I almost didn’t believe this when I saw it for the first time. Australia looks so tiny down there on the globe.
I like how Google distorts the ruled outline to be accurate on the disaster that is the Mercator projection.
To quote the CIA World Factbook: Australia is “slightly smaller than the US contiguous 48 states”. Creepin’ up behind you at 83.85% your land area, 7.31% your population, and with ALL of the poisonous animals. (But when I found out Brazil is actually slightly larger than us, it broke my little ten-year-old heart.)
